du bao xsmn Zhang Yazhou, a Tesla customer who climbed atop one of the electric vehicle makers cars at the 2021 Shanghai auto show, was recently told by Chinese courts that the US car giant has no responsibility for any reputational damages that she may have experienced, Tesla said in a post on its official Weibo account on Friday. Zhang also lost a related lawsuit against Tesla over unlawful invasion of individual privacy, after the company revealed a one-minute data log from prior to an accident involving her Model 3 sedan to a Chinese media agency in April 2021. Zhang has been in a battle with Tesla for two years, after her car crashed in early 2021 on a highway in the central city of Anyang, an incident which she blamed on brake failure in the vehicle. No results of the official investigation into cause of the crash have yet been released. [Tesla statement, in Chinese]
